Just the same old game...

- Graphics were generally too simple (except for the cookies, maybe...).

+ Different point amounts depending on the type of pickup.

- No major changes in gameplay from the other snake games.

- No audio.

* Different environments would be a nice change to the gameplay. Maybe you could include trap doors or a moat in a castle level.

* It'd be fun to have moving pickups, like mice or flies. I want to see a realistic snake in one of these games, too... perhaps with a bulge after eating a mouse.

Similar games I'd recommend: Mostly all the same. Just search for "Snake"... you might find a good one.

Fun puzzle game, even though I failed miserably.

Simple graphics and fonts, though that doesn't really matter much. Happy to see the puzzles aren't randomly generated. It could use a little more, mainly powerups and extra lives. Maybe the top AND bottom (Or even the sides) could move toward the center. Maybe you could have shapes other than simple block holes to squeeze into. How about hard to reach holes for bonus points? Would you be insane enough to have us rotate a certain shape to fit in a certain hole?! Well, anyway, I thought it was fun and addictive, and you should put a little more effort into this idea. I'd love to see at least one future game! :D

Oh, and there should be a button that speeds up the blocks. It's be nice when you know you're about to win or lose.

the puzzles ARE randomly generated...

Just another shmup.

- No pickups or other upgrades

- Repetitive gameplay

- Nothing that sets it apart from the rest

- Very few enemy types, mostly just straight shots

- Long boss fights, boring attack patterns

- No clear hitbox

- Boring backgrounds

+ Game saving

+ Good ship and designs

+ Movement was excellent

+ Addictive

3/5, 5/10, favorited because it's a shmup. :P Needs more to it. Add some more features, etc.

Recommending The Last Canopy, RaidenX and Space Wing for fans of this genre.

(Note to self: Do more reviews like this one.)

WarpZone responds:

Thanks for the feedback. If I had it to do over again, I'd implement powerups, scores, and more mid-game variety. I do appreciate that you took the time to make note of the good points. I poured a lot of effort into the timer, movement, and collision code.

RaidenX is great. :D I'll look into the other two. Thanks again.

Hmm...

Not much that sets this apart from other games. It takes too long for you to come back after a failure, and on level 9 there was a glitch and my character didn't come back. Level 8 was just plain annoying, by the way. It's not bad, but it needs more work.

AwokerR responds:

Well, I'm going to check it.

A simple avoid game.

Easy to pick up! I liked the scrolling BG. My score was 986... somewhere in the higher 20s on the high scores, I think. Make another with better graphics and more shapes, and you'll have a great avoid game. Maybe follow the powerup trend. You could even have levels, including bosses, which might be tunnels you have to go through, or set patterns.

A Bullet Hell game that could use some work.

- There are too many shots without much of a pattern.

- You shouldn't have such a large hit box with that many bullets.

- Oversensitive controls... not a good idea.

- Nothing seems to set this apart from the rest of the shmups.

- Doesn't keep you interested.

+ Graphics were good.

+ Menus and features were well designed.

2/5, 4/10.

Needs improvement...

- Not "keysounded". (To those who don't know what that means: You aren't actually playing the music by hitting the keys.)

- The sync could use work.

- The space key isn't used enough.

- The couple of songs weren't that great.

- Somewhat easy for experienced rhythm game players.

3/5, 5/10. Keep working on it.

XceeD responds:

Since you said it's easy for experienced rhythm game players, I'm going to invite you to the beta of the new version :D!

Will there ever be a good DDR sim?

Would be decent with actual music, better and harder steps, correct sync, a song selection screen, different difficulties, a life gauge... well, a lot of things. Also, Bemani could refer to "beatmania" where it gets it's name from, "Dance Dance Revolution", "GuitarFreaks", "DrumMania"... pretty much any music game Konami has made.

What can I say?

There isn't much new, the menu layout is a bit simple, there are annoying sound glitches, it's hard to start without losing a life instantly (The player should launch the ball), and the paddle movement is off-center in Survival. Plus, can anything be done about the glitch where the ball sticks to the paddle? Maybe have the boss battles in the main game, more block types, more creative layouts, etc.? Try resubmitting after a bit more work, especially with the game dealing the ball to you. I can't get past level 2 because of it!

Forgot to mention... the paddle's a bit too slow, and the ball gets caught in endless loops. I'd like to see moving blocks in Breakout...

Well, back to trying to beat level 2 without getting caught in a loop and having to sacrifice a life and lose the rest.

lemmingomar responds:

thanks i will keep on mind

Good.

It's pretty decent overall. My only major complaint is that the ship is huge compared to most other shooters. It makes the game feel cramped, unlike games like Raiden, where it feels roomy and is still challenging. I like it though.

CLOUND responds:

The Ship are large but the hit-miss point are small (cockpit area)

I want to make music and flash animations, but I can't make them the way they are in my head, and I can't settle for less. Oh, and I'm awesome. :P

Ummm... lion tamer?
